Here is a comprehensive summary of all the APIs we use mainly for social networking and for OCR, Fax and Scanning purposes.
It is used for the text detection from images. It can read a wide variety of image formats and convert them to text in over 60 languages. It works on Linux, Windows (with VC++ Express or CygWin) and Mac OSX. It can also be compiled for other platforms, including Android and the iPhone, though these are not as well tested platforms.

Nmap port Scanner
Nmap (Network Mapper) is a security scanner originally written by Gordon Lyon used to discover hosts and services on a computer network, thus creating a “map” of the network. To accomplish its goal, Nmap sends specially crafted packets to the target host and then analyzes the responses. The software provides a number of features for probing computer networks, including host discovery and service and operating system detection. These features are extensible by scripts that provide more advanced service detection, vulnerability detection, and other features. Nmap is also capable of adapting to network conditions including latency and congestion during a scan. Nmap is under development and refinement by its user community. Nmap was originally a Linux-only utility, but it was ported to Microsoft Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, BSD variants (including Mac OS X), AmigaOS, and SGI IRIX. Linux is the most popular platform, followed closely by Windows.
The BlindElephant Web Application Fingerprinter attempts to discover the version of a (known) web application by comparing static files at known locations against precomputed hashes for versions of those files in all available releases. The technique is fast, low-bandwidth, non-invasive, generic, and highly automatable. BlindElephant can be used directly as a tool on the command line, or as a library to provide fingerprinting functionality to another program.
Nikto Web Scanner
Nikto Web Scanner is a Web server scanner that tests Web servers for dangerous files/CGIs, outdated server software and other problems. It performs generic and server type specific checks. It also captures and prints any cookies received. The Nikto code itself is Open Source (GPL), however the data files it uses to drive the program are not. Chris Sullo, the CFO of Open Security Foundation has written this scanner for vulnerability assessment. Nikto performs comprehensive tests against web servers for multiple items, including over 6400 potentially dangerous files/CGIs, versions on over 1200 servers, and version specific problems on over 270 servers.
SQL Injection Test
Some of the user inputs might be used in framing SQL statements that are then executed by the application on the database. It is possible for an application NOT to handle the inputs given by the user properly. If this is the case, a malicious user could provide unexpected inputs to the application that are then used to frame and execute SQL statements on the database. This is called SQL injection. The consequences of such an action could be alarming. This application tests for such a situation.
